Ryan's First Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Ryan's first Christmas was an exciting one!  Aunt Deniz, Uncle Bobby, and Robert came in from California to celebrate Christmas with us this year.  They stayed with us along with Ryan's Nana and Dede--we had a full house for quite a few days!

On Christmas Eve, we all went over to Uncle Paul, Aunt Jan, and Levi's house for dinner.  On Christmas, everyone came over to our house to unwrap presents, eat a tasty tasty dinner, and relax.  Ryan wasn't able to taste any of the Christmas cookies or Oma's piragis, but I'm sure he'll make up for it next year :)

First Weeks at Home!

Ryan and I were discharged from the hospital on Saturday, December 10th at around noon.  Our first night at home was a little rough with very little sleep (so I guess it went as expected?).  Ryan is busy learning the world around him!  We introduced him to Beans and Chloe (our cats) who thankfully didn't take much interest in him.  Ryan got to spend lots of time with Oma, Opa, Tia Karen, Tio Alberto, Uncle Carl, Uncle Paul, Aunt Jan, and Cousin Levi those first two days!  Nana came to visit for a few days that next week, too!  Ryan has had lots of visitors!  Aunt Deniz, Uncle Bobby, and Cousin Robert came from California for Christmas and stayed with us and got to spend lots of time with Ryan, too!

He's here!

Ryan James Akinc was born on Thursday, December 8th, 2011 at 5:31pm after a long long labor.  As you can see, he was well worth all the waiting, contractions, and pushing.  This is one of my favorite pictures of him--he's less than 24 hours old and looks so peaceful and happy!  We stayed at the hospital for 2 nights, and were cleared to come home on Saturday, December 10th.  Now, the real fun begins!
