Summer 2015 - Day 1 & 2

Wednesday, June 17, 2015 - Day 1

HELLO SUMMER!!  It's very surreal, not going to work, knowing I have weeks and weeks ahead of being at home, playing with Ryan, and pretty soon, getting to know our new son (!!!).  Today was a low-key day for us - we started our day by going to the "restaurant playground" (Chick-fil-A) with some of my coworkers and their little ones.  Ryan and I hung out at home a lot, and I spent some time going through some of Ryan's old clothes to see what will work for the baby, organizing, etc.  It's been so incredibly hot lately (in the upper 90s/low 100s) that I don't want to spend much time outside because then I'll just sweat sweat sweat so today was mostly an indoor day for us :)

We tried out a new burger restaurant tonight, and Ryan spotted the fountains on the way in - so we had to make a quick visit on the way out.
Cheesin in front of the fountains

Ryan took a "big boy bath" tonight (in our tub) - he loves being able to splash in the big tub, turn on the jets, put way too much bubble bath in the tub, etc.  He could really spend hours in there if we let him!
He doesn't seem to mind having too many bubbles!

Either way, today was such a sweet, slow day to start our summer!

Thursday, June 18, 2015 - Day 2

Ryan and I went to Marbles today since I know that we might not be able to frequent Marbles as much as we did last summer because we'll be adjusting to a family of 4 very very soon.  First, he has grown so much since last summer.  I remember in the basketball room, he had trouble getting the ball into the 2nd hoop; this summer - not a problem and he's working on his jump shot for the next hoop :)  He still loves Marbles - being mischievous, running around in the money room, playing in the energy room.  He still loves playing with the food in the play kitchen, but we spent most of our time upstairs in the bigger kids section.

I also had to run a very important errand today - I had to drop off some of Ryan's pre-school paperwork at the pediatrician's office!  I can't believe my sweet baby boy is starting preschool in August!  Where has the time gone?  I really feel like I blinked and my little baby boy, who seemed to stay an infant for FOREVER, has grown into this very verbal, very curious, very mischievous preschooler!

We grilled tonight for the first time in awhile - a true testament to SUMMER :)  I can't wait for many more fun and lazy days like today!
