Summer 2014 - Days 45 & 46

Friday, August 1st - Day 45

Another mostly typical day for us - at least in the morning.  Woke up in the morning and ate porridge for breakfast.

Ryan is becoming more and more (and even more) independent.  HE has to measure the oatmeal out, HE has to put it in the bowl, HE has to pour the water in, HE has to mix in the cinnamon, HE has to put it in the microwave and press the buttons...you get the picture.  I love his independence - and I secretly love it when he gets frustrated enough to let me show him how to do it :)  He'll exclaim "I can't DO IT" and hand it off to me, and I show him how to do it, and then make him do it himself.

After breakfast, we went for a morning run in the jog stroller and then came back and played with shapes and foods.

"and this rectangle goes right here"

"I'm going to cut it just like this"

After running some errands, we went to the hospital to visit another friend's latest addition to her family -- another little boy for Ryan to (eventually) play with!

Saturday, August 2nd - Day 46

Today was a pretty dreary day - very cloudy with spotty rain off and on throughout the day.  YUCK.  I will definitely take blazing hot weather over this nonsense any day.  We started the morning with a morning run in the jog stroller and then watched an episode of Daniel Tiger.  For the afternoon, we ventured out to Stem for a Lia Sophia jewelry party, where Ryan had TONS OF FUN playing with the other kids there and playing with one toy, specifically.  Here's the proof:

You would have thought he was being driven in some super fancy schmancy car (and not a toy Jeep) - he was SO EXCITED and SO HAPPY when Katherine finished the drive.

Ryan then had to test drive it for himself:

Yeah, we have a lot of practicing to do to avoid objects, but Ryan loved this.  Katherine was such a good helper and so patient with him, too - and was so willing to let him drive (I'm not sure she knew what she was in for though).  I know the quality of the video isn't the best and my phone makes all sounds really muffled, but you get the overall picture of what the afternoon was like.  Ryan had SO MUCH FUN - and talked about the jeep and driving the jeep all the way home until he fell asleep :)

Such cuties!

Ryan is so happy! :)
I love his mischievous smile in this picture!
